4 Months Being a Self-Employed Building Consultant

It’s roughly 4 months since I made the decision to become a self-employed building consultant. A what a busy 4 months it has been!

Progress inspections

A Little About David Whitlam

With 45 years experience in the construction industry. I have been active in civil engineering, commercial building, highways, light rail, social housing, education, retail and defence sectors. I have recently been involved in a number of projects to provide city centre living spaces in former office accommodation. Recent projects include 33 new build apartments and a steel framed warehouse/storage facility.

In October 2021 I set up a building consultancy provided short term/part-time/freelance help to architects, consultants, contractors and sub-contractors with CDM, principal designer, health and safety, estimating, procurement planning, cost management and site monitoring assistance.
